Field Guide 08

What a TikTok seller's page actually looks like

Telling someone to "make a page" is useless without showing them the page. This is the whole thing, built out, with the reason for every block and the three things to leave off it.

The short version
The situation
You have been told you need a page outside TikTok, and you do not know what goes on it.
Why it fails
People either build nothing because it sounds like a project, or they build a full online shop with a basket and stock levels they will never use, then abandon it half-finished.
What it costs
The shop route costs weeks and usually a monthly subscription. The nothing route costs every buyer who wanted to pay and could not.
What to do
Six blocks on one page: who you are, what you sell with prices visible, a payment link, proof, delivery and returns, and a way to be contacted. That is the whole thing.

The page

Below is a complete example. The business is invented for illustration, but the structure is exactly what to copy.

Why each block is there

01

One line saying what you make and where

A stranger arriving from a video needs to know in two seconds that they are in the right place. "Hand-poured soy candles, made in Kraaifontein" does it. A slogan does not.

02

What you sell, with the price visible

This is the block people get wrong. Hiding the price to force a message feels like it creates a conversation; what it actually does is filter out everyone who was ready to buy and did not want to talk. Show the price. The people who message you anyway are the ones who had a real question.

Each item needs the thing, one line of what it actually is, and the number. Not a paragraph.

03

A payment link, right there

Not two taps away and not "EFT details on request". Every extra step loses people. The link also means the payment is recorded by a provider instead of arriving as a screenshot you have to trust, which is covered in the payment guide.

04

Proof the work is real

Somebody who found you on TikTok is about to send money to a stranger. Photographs of actual orders, actual packaging and the actual workspace do more than any amount of copy. Stock photographs do the opposite — people recognise them instantly and it reads as a scam.

05

Delivery and returns, in one paragraph

How it ships, what it costs, roughly how long, and what happens if it arrives broken. Answer it once here and you stop answering it forty times in messages. A clear returns line also removes the main reason people hesitate.

06

A way to be contacted that is not a DM

An email address or a form. This is the block that outlives the platform: it is how a brand reaches you about paid work, and how you keep a list of buyers that still exists if the account goes.

The three things to leave off

A basket and stock levels. They need maintaining and they only earn their keep at volumes most sellers have not reached. Until then they are a second job that produces nothing.

A newsletter popup. On a page this short it covers the prices, which is the only thing the visitor came for.

An About Us paragraph about passion. Nobody arriving from a video reads it. The proof photographs do that job better and honestly.

How long this actually takes

The page itself is an evening if you already know your prices. Most of the real time goes on two things people underestimate: deciding the prices and photographing the proof. Do those first and the page assembles quickly.

If you do not yet know whether anyone will pay, build nothing — test the offer first. A page for something nobody has bought is decoration.

If you would rather not build it yourself

Being straight about it: this site is run by FEHM SERVE, which builds pages like this for small businesses. So the guide above recommends something we also sell, and you should know that before you read it as neutral. Everything here is what you need to do it yourself for free. If you would rather it was simply done, use the ask form and say what you sell. If it is not a fit, we will say so.

Common questions

What should be on a page for selling from TikTok?
Six things: who you are in one line, what you sell with visible prices, a payment link, proof the work is real, delivery and returns in one short paragraph, and a way to be contacted that is not a direct message. Anything beyond that is usually decoration.
Do I need a shop with a basket and stock levels?
Not at the start. A basket adds stock counts, variants and a checkout to maintain, and it only pays off at volumes most sellers have not reached. One page with visible prices and a payment link converts a social media viewer just as well and takes an evening.
Should I show prices or ask people to message me?
Show them. Hiding prices to force a direct message is the most common mistake sellers make and it costs the buyers who were ready to pay and did not want a conversation first.
How much does a page like this cost to run?
A static page of this size costs very little to host, and several providers host one free at small traffic levels. The recurring costs that matter are the domain name each year and the percentage your payment provider takes when you actually get paid.

Then set up the payment side

The page is half of it. The other half is which payment link works in South Africa and why proof-of-payment screenshots quietly lose you money. Free, no signup.
